Exciting week at the frontiers of robotics! Our team just returned from RSS 2026 in Sydney, where we participated with one formal paper presentation and several workshop presentations. Regarding the paper presentation, Harim Ji presented “TE-SDF: Tetra-Encoded Signed Distance Field for Memory-Efficient and Accurate Collision Detection” (Online, YouTube).

I found the TE-SDF collision detection work really interesting since memory efficiency is such a big deal in real robots. It makes me wonder how this compares to other methods we have seen in the past. The Wavelength Game reminded me of how precision matters in everything.
